Nwa Mends the Heavens The Creation Myths of Chines
In ancient China, myths and legends were an integral part of everyday life. They provided explanations for natural phenomena, told stories of gods and monsters, and offered guidance on how to live a good life. Among these myths is the story of Nüwa, the goddess who mended the heavens.
The Birth of Nüwa
According to Chinese mythology, Nüwa was born from a drop of sweat that fell from the eyebrows of Yu Huang (the Supreme God) during his meditation. She was created by Yu Huang to help him in his work as a creator god. As her name suggests (nǚ means "woman" or "goddess"), she was female.
The Great Flood
One day, when Yu Huang decided to create humans again after wiping them out with a great flood due to their misbehavior towards one another, he asked Nüwa for help. However, he realized that there were no suitable materials left on Earth for making humans.
Nüwa then went up into heaven and fetched some divine clay which she used to create humans anew. This time around though, she made them more intelligent than before so they would be able to avoid repeating past mistakes.
Mending Heaven
After creating humans once again through her divine intervention in response to Yu Huang's request for help during times when humanity had become wicked beyond redemption by causing chaos upon this world with their greediness; it became apparent that there existed gaps within heaven itself caused by war between celestial beings fighting over power amongst themselves - just like what happened here on Earth among mortals priorly mentioned earlier!
To mend these holes within heavenly fabricating new stars instead using stones found only available down below ground level earth surface which also contain minerals essential elements required building structures such as houses bridges roads etcetera!
